Short-term agreement reached to avert US government shutdown - Bloomberg
Congressional Democrats and Republicans reached a deal Wednesday on a stopgap bill to avert a US government shutdown on Oct. 1, although the threat of the closure later this year will again build as the latest measure would keep the government open only through Nov. 21, according to Bloomberg.
The past three US government shutdowns costed taxpayers roughly $4 billion, according to an incomplete tally released Tuesday.
